Garbage Rates

Rates for common Recycle Plus services for single
family residents are shown below. Your fee pays for monthly street
sweeping service and weekly garbage, recycling, and yard trimmings
collection. For multi-family residents, please see the Guide

The rate you pay is based on the size of your
garbage cart. Recycling is unlimited at no additional charge. By
recycling as much as you can, you will be able to use the smaller
garbage cart sizes, which cost less. Visit the Residential

If you occasionally have more garbage than will
fit in your garbage cart, keep some Extra
Garbage Stickers on hand. Put your extra garbage in a 32-gallon
trash bag, label it with an Extra Garbage Sticker, and place it
on the curb next to your garbage cart on your collection day. You
can buy Extra Garbage Stickers at all San Jose libraries, Albertsons
and Safeway stores, and participating 7-Eleven stores in San Jose.
If you frequently have extra garbage, you may need to move to the
next larger cart size.
